ECOS Guide to the Ecology of the Northern Rockies

About Us

ECOS is developing a guide to the ecology of the northern Rockies, which will cover a broad range of plants and animals found in western Montana. The final product will be a reference collection of specimens and an easy-to-use online guide and hard copies available to the K-12 schools participating in the ECOS program.

Goals of the guide

To provide a comprehensive, accurate guide to the plants and animals of the Northern Rockies with a particular focus on schoolyards and surrounding local natural areas. We will integrate information from existing field guides, published literature and local observations. The guide will be permanent, free, readily available, user friendly and frequently updated. This guide will be available online and in hardcopy.
