Different professors have different philosophies with regard to publishing the results of undergraduate research. One recurring theme is that the Undergraduate Fellows’ research is a part of a larger body of research. Drs. Mike Minnick, Bill Holben, and Steve Lodmell emphasize thinking of publishing early in the process of developing research and how results will be communicated to a larger audience.



As part of the Mentoring Team approach, Dr. Scott Mills discussed responsibilities, goals, and expectations with his Undergraduate Fellow and Graduate Student at the outset of the relationship. Using publishing research results as an example, he talks about how a planning meeting sets the stage for a successful team relationship.
